Synopsis of Baptism of fire witcher
“The prophetess said to the sorcerer:” This advice I give you: put on errant boots, take an errant staff in your hand. Go with your errant boots to the end of the world. On the way, wave your cane and water everything with tears. Go through the water and the fire, don’t stop or look around you. And when the almadreñas wear out, when the stick of error falls apart, when the wind and heat dry your eyes in such a way that not a tear can escape from them, then, at the end of the world, you will find what you seek and what you love. It could be”.
The witcher crossed the water and the fire without looking around him. But he did not put on errant boots or take a cane. He only carried his warlock sword. He did not listen to the words of the prophetess. And well, he did because she was a bad prophetess. “
Andrzej Sapkowski is the great renovator of fantasy literature of our time, a genius of language and characterization whose prose has already enchanted millions of readers worldwide.

Baptism Of Fire (novel) Review By Pdf Book Planet
In this fifth installment of the Geralt of Rivia saga, we find a more classic adventure book. A group of characters, in this case, Geralt, Dandelion, and other pilgrims have to undertake a journey through the desolate lands affected by war. In that sense, the book is reminiscent of Tolkien’s The Fellowship of the Ring.
Sapkowski uses this adventure trip to masterfully show the horrors of war, the context and current political entanglements, and the situation of his characters. Here the plot progresses little and focuses more on the day-to-day of the company and the adventures that lie ahead.
Geralt regains weight in the novel, finding us a lost, aimless, self-pitying sorcerer who will have no choice but to accept the help of his friends in the search for Ciri. Thus, many secondary characters appear that shine with their light, all of them perfectly characterized, deep and complex, full of nuances, and every one of them has something to tell.
There is also no lack of identity signs of the saga, such as the raw moments, the violence, the witty and brilliant dialogues, or the treatment of more profound issues such as discrimination, the cruelty of war, racism, and much more.
Sapkowski of Ciri is not forgotten, whom we will follow on the way to his destiny, and we will be observers and participants in his evolution as a character. Likewise, Yennefer also has a certain weight in the novel. Through its subplot, the Polish author tells us about different power intrigues and sorceresses’ tremendous political influence.
In short, we are facing a novel of level, with very great characters, dialogues, and all the hallmarks of the saga. Like the previous ones, you can find the book published in Spain by the Alamut publishing house, with the translation of José Maria Faraldo.
Baptism Of Fire Summary
The Witcher Saga is the epic fantasy book series on which The Witcher was based. This time we have to analyze the fifth installment: Baptism of Fire, although, as always, we do it on video through our collaboration with Momoko.
Baptism of Fire takes us back to the story of Geralt of Rivia after the terrible battle at the Tower of the Swallow. After being badly wounded, Triss Merigold teleports Geralt making a great magical effort to Brokilon so that he can heal there. At the same time, Ciri escapes through the unstable portal and ends up in a terrible desert. After surviving an attempted capture, she will join a group of thieves and murderers called “the Rats,” who steal and party.
Geralt, terribly wounded, ends up in the hands of the dryads, who begin to heal his wounds. However, when he discovers a human named Milva capable of going in and out of Brooklyn, he doesn’t think twice before pleading with her to help him find Ciri and Yennefer. Despite the woman’s reluctance, she ends up coming back with very little hopeful news. Everyone considers Yennefer to be an accomplice in the Nilfgaardian attack on the wizarding convention, and rumors appear to be running that Ciri is in Nilfgaard. Without thinking for a moment, despite being injured and lame, Geralt embarks on the suicide mission to cross Temeria to save the girl from his fate. He even knows that it will cost him his life.
Baptism of Fire is, so far, the best part of the Witcher Saga. The excellence in building Sapkowski characters stands out with the appearance of two new figures: Milva the human and Regis, the botanist. A highly recommended book.
